Rules & Regulations
The following rules and regulations apply at all times:
General Rules:
1. All golfers must register with the Pro Shop prior to play.
2. Members are responsible for informing their Guest(s) of the Club Rules and Regulations, particularly with respect to the Dress Code and Pace of Play.
3. The Pro Shop has the right to fill in vacant spots in the tee sheet at any time.
4. All play must commence from the first hole unless approved by the Pro Shop.
5. Pets are not permitted anywhere on the Club’s premises.
6. The Club is not responsible for:
- any loss of, or damage to, property of members or other persons, whether by fire, theft or otherwise, occurring on Club’s property;
- any damage or injury (including death) that members or other persons may cause or incur while on the Club’s property, including the golf course; whether such loss, damage or injury occurs through the negligence of the Club, its employees or otherwise. This rule includes the operation of golf carts or other equipment which may be rented by members and/or their guests.
7. Coverage for Public Liability, Property Damage and Loss while on the Club’s property or premises is the responsibility of members or other persons.
Golf Course Etiquette:
1. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your starting time.
2. Play “Ready Golf” (being prepared to play your shot while others are playing).
3. Repair all ball marks and replace divots or use the sand and seed bottles provided.
4. The R.C.G.A. Rules of Golf are there to help the player learn the basic, fundamental rules.
5. A club is not only a golf course—it’s a place to meet and enjoy other Members and their Guests. The great club’s are a family of friends. Take pride in “Whitetail” and its Members.
6. Place pull and power carts to the rear of the green in the direction of the next hole to assist in the pace of play.
Playing Privileges:
1. Full Adult Members and Public may play any time.
2. Weekday Members may play any time from Monday to Friday (except Holidays).
3. Junior Members may play unaccompanied any time from Monday to Thursday (except Holidays), or after 2:00pm when accompanied by an adult on peak times.
Booking Privileges:
Members and Public may reserve a starting time through the Pro Shop up to 10 days in advance.
Cancellation Policy:
1. Regular Play: Players must contact the Pro Shop when canceling a scheduled tee time.
2. Member Events: When a scheduled tournament involves the preparation of food, entrants must cancel no later than 24 hours prior to the event to avoid being charged the entry fee of that tournament.
3. Corporate Events: Outside tournaments will only be cancelled if the golf course must be closed due to severely inclement weather. Such tournaments will proceed “rain or shine”.
Practice Tee Area:
Members and Public wishing to use the Practice Tee may purchase golf balls in the Pro Shop. The practice tee area opens at the same time as the Pro Shop, and remains open until one half-hour before dusk.
Power and pull carts must not be taken on to the teeing ground.
Power Carts:
1. Power carts must not be driven closer than 30 feet of the perimeter of the greens or on to tees or side slopes of tees. Members must obey directional signs, markers or lines as to the route to be taken by carts. Where cart paths are installed next to greens and tees, carts must be driven and parked on the paths.
2. Carts may be prohibited or restricted when ground conditions are such that damage to the course may occur.
3. A person using a cart is not entitled to any special privileges or priority on the course and must respect other people who are walking.
4. Members and Public shall be held responsible for the proper use of and/or damage to power carts.
5. Cart privileges will be withdrawn from any Member who abuses rules governing the use of power carts.
7. Only golf carts owned by the Club are authorized for use on the Club’s property.
Handicaps:
1. For handicap purposes, ALL games must be recorded in accordance with Handicap Regulations. Members should record all adjusted scores. Inaccurate handicaps that are too low or too high diminish the pleasure of fair competition.
2. To establish a handicap, a player must post a minimum of 5 scores.
3. Each player is responsible for playing under his correct handicap.
Severe Weather Warning:
Due to the frequency of electrical storms, the Club has implemented the following:
At the sound of a solid tone signal, lasting 10 seconds, transmitted through an air siren located at the Pro Shop, individuals on the course are to immediately seek shelter.
The “alI clear” signal will be transmitted through the same siren with 3 short sounds. Those wishing to resume play should only do so upon direct verbal communication from Pro Shop Staff.
Dress Code:
Traditional golf attire is required at all times on the golf course. Men are required to wear collared shirts, or as an alternative, turtle-neck or mock turtle-neck tops are acceptable. Women may wear collarless golf shirts. Golfers must wear tailored pants or tailored Bermuda style shorts. Shorts must be within a maximum of 4″ above the knee for men and a maximum of 6″ above the knee for women. Cargo pants may not be worn. Shirts must be tucked in at all times. Warm-up pants accepted in inclement weather.
Golf shoes with metal spikes are not permitted. Pro Shop Staff will install soft spikes for Members and Public upon request, for a nominal charge. Golf sandals are permitted.
Repeat infractions of the rules of the facility will result in suspension of privileges.
Pace of Play:
Slow play takes away from the enjoyment of the game. 18 holes should be completed by a four-some at Whitetail in no more than 4 and a half hours. It should be noted that this is a maximum, and it is clearly possible to play in a time shorter than this. It is the responsibility of all Members and their Guests to meet this standard. When there is an open hole ahead of your group, you must allow the group following to play through. When the group solely consists of Members, the group’s pace of play is the responsibility of the low handicap player in the group. When the group involves Members and Guests, it is the Member’s responsibility to keep the proper pace. At all times, a maximum of four players may play in a group.
Liquor Regulations:
1. Liquor may not be brought on to or taken off the premises under any circumstances.
2. Liquor will not be served to anyone under the age of 19.
3. Liquor will not be served before 9am.
4. Our staff has been instructed to withhold bar and/or cart service to persons who, in their judgment, appear intoxicated. This is done for the protection of both the Club and our Members, Guests, and Public Players.
Important Notice to Members:
The Courts of Ontario have extended the scope of the liability of the owners of premises licensed to sell alcoholic beverages and have rules that the operators and owners of such premises have an obligation to control the consumption of such beverages by patrons. It is the responsibility of the Club to refuse drinks to Members or Public Players who have, in their opinion, over-indulged.
In light of this responsibility, The Club wishes to remind Members that they are individually responsible for the proper conduct and comportment of themselves, their family members and guests while on the premises of Whitetail Golf Club. This responsibility extends to the lawful consumption of alcoholic beverages by such persons.
It is, therefore, obvious that Members should exercise great care regarding the consumption of alcoholic beverages by themselves and their guests while on Club premises, particularly when motor vehicles involved. When in doubt, use a taxi—our Staff will be more than happy to assist you.

Fair and Balanced Challenge, Friendly Staff
This was our first time here. My son and I enjoyed the course, good challenge, fair, greens roll nicely.
The long par 5s were a bit of a struggle with my length off the tee but still managed an up & down par on one.
Staff were friendly and welcoming, food was good.
Looking forward to returning.
